Tree felling

Where there is room, a tree comes down in one. Where there is not, it comes down in pieces, on ropes, in an order worked out before anyone starts a saw.

Sectional dismantling is what most garden work actually involves — a climber or a MEWP takes the tree apart from the top, lowering each piece on rigging lines so nothing lands on the greenhouse, the fence or the neighbour. Slower than felling, and the reason a tight-access job costs more than an open one.

On bigger jobs we bring the crane, which changes the arithmetic completely. Sections get lifted out over the roof rather than lowered through the canopy, and a two-day dismantle becomes a morning.

Fair questions

Do I need permission?
If the tree has a TPO or sits in a conservation area, yes. We check before quoting and make the application for you at no charge.
What happens to the wood?
Taken away as part of the price, or cut to length and stacked if you burn it. Say which when we quote.
Will your machines wreck the lawn?
Boards and mats go down before anything heavy moves. On very soft winter ground we will sometimes suggest waiting.
