Crane & MEWP work

The part of the kit that separates a difficult job from an impossible one — and the reason we get called in by other tree firms.

A crane changes what is possible in a confined garden. Instead of a climber lowering forty small pieces through a canopy onto a lawn, whole sections come off the tree and travel over the roof to the trailer. Less time in the tree, less rigging load on the stem, far less mess on the ground, and a job that would have taken two days is done in a morning.

The MEWP does the same for trees that are not safe to climb — dead ash, hollow stems, anything with a suspect union. Nobody has to put their weight on a tree we do not trust.

We also lift things that are not trees: garden buildings, hot tubs, stone, machinery over walls, root plates out of the ground. If it needs to go over an obstacle rather than through it, ask.

Fair questions

Do you need to get the lorry into my garden?
Usually not. The crane reaches over walls and buildings, which is the point — it often works from the road.
Is it more expensive than climbing?
Per hour, yes. Per job, frequently less, because it is so much faster and needs a smaller crew on the ground.
Can other tree firms hire you in?
Yes, we do contract lifts. Get in touch with the site details and we will quote.
